OpenSpec IntelliJ Plugin — Last updated: March 15, 2026
None. The OpenSpec plugin does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, usage analytics, or telemetry.
When you use the Direct API feature to generate artifacts, the plugin sends your spec content (proposals, designs, requirements) directly to the AI provider you have configured:
This data transfer occurs only when you explicitly trigger generation (clicking Generate or Generate All). The plugin never sends data in the background or without your action.
Your API keys are stored locally on your machine using IntelliJ's PasswordSafe, which uses your operating system's secure credential storage (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, or Linux Secret Service). API keys are never transmitted to JohnnyB Labs or any party other than the AI provider you configured.
When using Clipboard or Editor Tab delivery methods, your spec content is copied to your local clipboard or opened in a local editor tab. No network requests are made.
The plugin does not integrate with any third-party analytics, crash reporting, or tracking services.
